Ian Purkayastha (born August 30, 1992) is the founder of Regalis Foods, a New York based luxury foods company, specializing in fresh truffles, foraged edibles, uni, caviar, and exotic seafoods.

At 15, Ian began foraging for mushrooms and wild greens with his uncle in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After tasting his first truffle soon after, Ian began cold-calling local restaurants and chefs in neighboring cities. The business quickly grew and in 2012, Ian founded Regalis.

Today, based in New York, Regalis sells products to 90% of the Michelin starred restaurant community nationally and has offices in New York, Chicago, and Texas. Ian authored “Truffle Boy: My Unexpected Journey Through the Exotic Food Underground” in February, 2017, released by Hachette Books.

In March 2020, regalisfoods.com was founded, Regalis’ direct BTC business, offering 80% of the full portfolio to home consumers at wholesale pricing.
